Mukeshimana and Clarissa
While traveling to Rwamagana District, I came across two hardworking women walking along the road, balancing their entire livelihoods on their heads. One carried a basket filled with vegetables on her agataro and a sack resting against her back. The other steadied a basin full of fruits as she moved forward step by step. Both were coming from a local market determined to reach customers wherever they could find them.
Under the heat of the sun, with no guarantee of sales, they kept walking guided by hope, driven by love for their families. Their teamwork, their laughter, and their resilience told a powerful story of survival and sisterhood. This painting is a celebration of that spirit the beauty of everyday heroes who often go unnoticed. Through every brushstroke, I wanted to honor their journey, their hustle, and their dreams.
Your purchase becomes part of their story, you help shine a light on them and others like them hardworking women who move our communities forward with strength and dignity.
