Cyemezo Fabrice

Cyemezo Fabrice

Cyemezo Fabrice is a 20-year-old moto taxi driver from Rwamagana who works in Kigali. He graduated from high school in 2025 and began working as a moto taxi driver in March 2026.

As the only son in a family of five children, Cyemezo chose this work as a way to contribute to his family while building a future for himself. He rents a place to live, pays for his daily needs, and is also paying a bank loan for the motorcycle he works with.

I discovered Cyemezo through TikTok and reached out to ask if he would be willing to share his story. What moved me was his courage and the way he is using his work as a step toward his goals.

Cyemezo says he has always loved vehicles and motorcycles. One of the things he enjoys most about being a moto taxi driver is meeting different people and helping them reach their destinations safely.

> “I like doing this job because it allows me to meet different people. I enjoy taking people where they need to go safely.”

His work is also connected to his plans for education. In September 2026, he plans to begin college to study Transport and Logistics, with the goal of earning a degree and strengthening his career in transportation.

Outside of work, Cyemezo uses social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok, where I first came across his story.

For me, Cyemezo represents a young person using what he has today to build what he hopes to have tomorrow. His courage, determination, and love for his work are what inspired me to paint his story as part of the "Motari series".
